  4. Mike Warnke has repented and followed the counsel of numerous Christians to be restored...remember, if you expect grace for your MANY sins, then you are required to give likewise. Furthermore, I hesitate to believe anything that Mr Trott wrote, since he is quite anti-Christian in his personal extremist liberal views.

  5. How about drawing a line for telling the truth?

  6. Anonymous,

I believe in drawing a line for truth and did so since what was posted about Mr Warnke's "lies" was only half-truths.

As I wrote: Mr Warnke confessed and repented of his untruthfulness and he actually went through a process of being restored by pastors.

You see, I believe in telling the whole truth, not just one part, since partial truth is rarely the actual truth, anyway.

  7. How does one get "restored" from continuing to promote a false testimony? Unfortunately, there's confusion being shown here between what we found when we investigated Warnke's claims re Satanic covens and the like and between Mike "being sorry" for sins unspecified. The "pastoral board" was in reality a group he put together out of folks who'd already proven to be rubber stamps (we dealt with the details in our book, "Selling Satan: Mike Warnke and the Evangelical Media" [Cornerstone Press]).

Seeker is a fellah who shows up wherever posts re Warnke pop up, defending Warnke without any facts to actually achieve his goal. Sigh...

I showed up here because as a guy who once reviewed many of these albums for Cornerstone, I like being able to rediscover a few of 'em. Thanks for the site... and for those confused by Mike Warnke's real story, I do suggest the link posted in the first comment here be read.

    Sincerely,
    Jon Trott

  8. Mr Trott, you really ought not try to call out people and lie about them as you have done here about me. YOU have great need of repentance at this time.

First, since you CLAIM to know me, why not show us all the places where I have "show(n) up wherever posts re Warnke pop up, defending Warnke without any facts," as you have falsely claimed I have done.

Of course you won't do this since you know it is a lie. (If, on the other hand you actually believe in what you have written here, then it simply will become proof of your incompetence in discovering the truth, which will be another method by which you prove that you are no authority on discovering facts about anything and/or anyone)

And Christians usually don't buy materials that they find have been written by those who can't even get their facts correct.

I challenge you to step up and act like a Christian instead of what you've done thus far.

  9. Mr. Trott,
Are you at liberty to share how many copies of the book have been sold, and how many hits on the magazine article page?

    Thanks,
    Stormer

  10. I listened to Mike back in the day- late 70's, early 80's, and saw him in person in 1981 or 1982. There is a big difference between someone who is a legitimate minister, falls into sin, and is restored- and someone who is a con-man from the very beginning, basing their whole ministry on lies and deceit. Mike came to fame because of lies. He was never had a legitimate ministry because of the lies and adultry. Certainly, he can be forgiven and restored to God, but he should get out of public ministry. He should have been indicted for his work as a "Christian" conman.

  11. Seeker- one more comment/question. Restored to what? He never had a legitimate ministry, because it was based on his tales of witchcraft and drug use. So what was he "restored" to? His prior position as a con artist?

  12. Luke 6:41-44 A Tree Is Known by Its Fruit
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush."

Mike Warnke has produce more good fruit than a lot of other ministers whom would seem more "respectable". Everyone who wants to hate him for his immature exaggerations during a very rough time in his life are just bashing everyone around them with their own plank. Shame on you.

  13. If the shoe fits: Cornerstone Magazine has been in far more trouble than Mike Warnke ever was. Several investigations have been done on reported abuse by the JPUSA (Jesus People USA) out of Chicago that the Cornerstone publications originated from.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_People_USA#Controversy

And before you scoff at a wiki reference, consider the published books and collaboration by local Christian clinics that have been reporting those abuses from those people since the 1990's. The Chicago Tribune also collaborates and has reported on the findings such as the "adult spankings" used by these people whom think they've so destroyed Mike Warnke. So please consider the source of any and all information you read. You may realize you've been lied to by the wrong person.

Like most authors, Warnke made it clear that parts of his stories would be exaggerated and misleading to protect certain people. So please stop being the tool you think others are and think before you critisize.

Warnke's still being invited to preach all around the world today. I just watched a recording of him giving a breakfast sermon in Bridgend, South Wales from last year: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/5046289

    Cornerstone died in 2003.

  14. JWhite thanks for sharing the video link. Oddly I never listened to Mike Warnke before, and it was actually the busy comments on this forum that have got me curious enough to listen and he's actually a very funny man. It's refreshing, but also humbling to know that it is only by the grace of God that we stand in Jesus. Blessings.

  15. Yes Mike was/is a funny guy. I listened to him quite a bit. No one seems to have answered my question, though. What has he been "restored" to? He rose to fame by telling lies, not "immature exagerations," but lies. His whole ministry was based on his coming out of satanism, which was a lie. I don't hate him and hope that he has found forgiveness and restoration with God. But his prior ministry was little more than a con job. The Word of God gives qualifications for ministers and deacons, and Mike doesn't fit. That's not throwing stones, but pointing out the obvious. So everyone defending him, please answer the question- to what has he been restored? To what position of ministry has he been restored?

  16. Mike Warnke has been restored to ministry. It has never been established that his testimony was a lie. Mr. Warnke admits that he compiled his own testimony with others and told them in the first person to protect the anonymity of the other victims and for a smoother presentation. Mr Trott's allegations are no less questionable than Mr. Warnke's stories. One of them quickly repented, the other still trolls blogs almost two decades later rebuking anyone willing to extend Christian grace to Mike Warnke.
